The tantalizing palate
Just as most of Indians, rice is the Burmese staple food. However, as an alternative, many a times, corn and millet is also preferred. A full course Burmese meal would have raw salad, soup, fish, meat, prawn or egg curries.

What amazes anyone is that they eat on a low table, just like our dining tables, but shorter and sitting on mats instead of chairs. Additionally, they prefer to smoke tobacco and eat betel nuts all day long.
